Tapering is a strange experience. After a few months of scheming to add a mile here and a mile there, I’ve spent the last week trying to do less. It feels as though I’m forgetting something – running 6 miles instead of 8-10 this Tuesday created an eery sensation like I’d left my wallet at a restaurant or something. And now the day before, I know there’s nothing more to be done. I can’t keep stretching that tight hamstring or fret over which socks to wear for much longer. Now it’s time to let go, accept what’s to come, and just run. So to everyone racing this weekend, best wishes. See you out there!
