I was in Rapid City for work today and had a moment on my lunch break. Realizing I was just down the street from The Runner’s Shop, I decided to stop in and check things out. In an age when even in rural America you can get almost anything on your doorstep in 48 hours, I still believe firmly there’s a key place for local running stores. I perused the selection, got some info about the aid stations at the upcoming Black Hills 50k, and realized that I totally need these sweet gaiters. Paying a few bucks more, which isn’t even always the case, is completely worth it. And who hasn’t had a big fail on a pair of internet running shoes? Best of all, it’s a quick way to support local runners and the running community in general. While I can coax a few more miles out of my Lone Peak 3.0s, I’ll definitely be making the trip to Rapid for my next pair.
